I was introduced to Kato Unitrack at a train show in Houston about 6 years ago. It was being used by a train club that travels the country going show to show. The fellow I talked with said they never had trouble with their layout and that the current track was 10 years old. I purchased enough track to make an oval. After a month of use I was hooked. Today I have lots of Unitrack including a turntable. The reliability of this track is amazing. I can back a 40 car freight over 3 turnouts and not derail. When I switched to DCC there was no issue, simply change power source. I did have to add a few track power points due to Kato's electric frogs on turnouts.
